What is the Reynolds Transport Theorem?
Think about the relationship between system equations and control volumes.
Define steady flow.
Opposite of unsteady flow.
What does the Reynolds Transport Theorem relate to?
Think about what the theorem encompasses.
In what scenario is fluid flow considered steady?
Does the behavior of fluid maintain the same properties over time?
You have a water tank with two inlets and one outlet. If the flow rates in the inlets are 0.1 L/s and 0.15 L/s, and the outlet flow rate is 0.2 L/s, with a constant storage density of water, what will be the net change in water accumulated over one minute?
Remember to subtract outlet flow from the total inlet flow to find net changes.
In a venturi flow meter, water flows through a pipe that tapers at one end. If the diameter at the wider section is 4 m and at the throat is 2 m, and the velocity at the wider section is 2 m/s, what is the velocity at the throat?
Use the diameter to find area and apply the continuity principle.
